A farm getaway is a way for you, or you and a loved one, to spend a weekend on a farm in the middle of the countryside, in a guesthouse that'll make you feel right at home.
Yes! Persimmon Hill is located on the grounds of Bouldin Food Forest, a regenerative, year-round organic production farm. This means you will be fully immersed in nature, so expect dirt, insects, dogs, reptiles, birds and vegetation of all kinds. Also expect lots of quiet, beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the sounds of farm life in the country.
Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM.
Unfortunately, we do not allow pets at Persimmon Hill, and all guests must be 18 or older. We have animals on the farm, and so it's best there aren't any potential animal conflicts!
Yes! We offer a "Get Your Hands Dirty" package that includes 3 hours out in the garden, planting, weeding, and cultivating whatever is currently in season. This package also includes a t-shirt to remember your experience farming the old-fashioned way.

The guest house was originally built to house students and travelers who came from around the world to work at Bouldin Food Forest. We have had many requests over the years for tours, so Persimmon Hill became the ideal way for non-farmers to experience the joy and magic a farm has to offer.
Yes! We have a flock of Indian Runner ducks who provide pest management, a herd of Red Angus cows who free range on 140 acres, a farm cat named Pork Chop, and three livestock guardian dogs, Willow, Rick, and Morty.
